We strive to make this website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility of Federal Websites and Mobile Applications (Web Accessibility Act—WZG), Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019, as amended.

Status of Compliance with Requirements

Due to the following non-conformities, this website is partially compliant with Conformity Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (March 2021) in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

Due to the website’s historical development, we assume that the website’s content is not fully accessible.


The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:


a. Non-compliance with accessibility requirements

  • Some images and buttons do not have alternative text, or the alternative text does not describe the specific image.
  • Some tables lack headers; in some cases, headings are missing or the heading structure is incorrect; lists are not formatted as such or lack ARIA labels.
  • The requirements for sufficient contrast in text and non-text content according to WCAG Level AA are not yet consistently met on the website.
  • The structure and labeling of headings and form fields are being continuously revised to improve clarity and usability for all users.
  • The requirement for content to reformat properly when zoomed in significantly without losing information or functionality is largely met; content generally remains usable even at high zoom levels.
  • Keyboard accessibility is generally available on the website. Most functions can be used without a mouse, though there are still minor limitations for certain elements.
  • We plan to gradually address those issues that can be resolved through editorial changes (such as missing alternative text for images).

b. Disproportionate Burden

  • The tab order and menu positioning are incorrect in some cases
  • Our videos are hosted and published partly on this website and partly on the YouTube video platform. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos.

c. The content does not fall within the scope of applicable legal regulations

  • Historical documents (e.g., older image and PDF documents) are not accessible to screen reader users, or are only partially accessible, and are not sufficiently scalable.

Enforcement Procedures

If you do not receive a satisfactory response via the contact option mentioned above, you may file a complaint with the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the Complaints Office contact form.
The FFG reviews complaints to determine whether they relate to violations of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular deficiencies in compliance with accessibility requirements, by the Federal Government or an institution under its jurisdiction.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG must issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the relevant legal entities and propose measures to remedy the identified deficiencies.
